Requirements


    • Applicants must be willing to make a lifetime commitment to an adopted dog. There are no exceptions.

    • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid ID with current address.

    • New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois must have the consent of all adults living in the household and approval from owner of residence.

    • Proof, via a vet reference, that all animals already living in your home are spayed or neutered, 100% up to date on vaccines (rabies, bordetella and distemper), heartworm testing and flea and heartworm preventatives.

Process


    • Complete and submit your application to New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois. Please understand that New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois is a 100% volunteer organization. We will do our best to try to get back to you within 72 hours.

    • Your veterinarian and personal references will be checked. The faster they get back to us, the faster we can get back to you.

    • A New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois volunteer will contact you via email or telephone to interview you, answer any questions and set up a time to meet our dogs.

    • Proof, via a vet reference, that all animals already living in your home are spayed or neutered, 100% up to date on vaccines (rabies, bordetella and distemper), heartworm testing and flea and heartworm preventatives.

    • All New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois dogs are in foster homes. We do our best to match the right dog to you and your family. We require that ALL family members are present when meeting any dog.

Age Cost
Puppies (8 weeks – 6 months) $325
Dogs (7 months – 7 years) $275
Senior Dogs (7+ years ) $150

*All fees must be paid in full, in cash at the time of adoption. Adoption fees include all age appropriate vaccines (rabies, bordetella, distemper, canine influenza and leptospirosis), heartworm testing, age appropriate spay/neuter, deworming, micro-chipping and current on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
